This summer brings an exciting addition to Glenmore Park. A brand new wheelchair washing machine has been purchased for the long term care centre with a recent donation from the Calgary North Hill Lions Club.
Dedicated to serving its community, the Club is pleased with how its donation will advance the overall quality of care available in Calgary and specifically at two Carewest sites.
“The Calgary North Hill Lions are honoured to have the privilege of presenting a piece of equipment that will provide cleanliness and safety for residents while helping staff to go about their duties more effectively and efficiently,” says Lion Margaret Brucker, President of Calgary North Hill Lions Club. |
The Lions have a history of supporting Carewest Colonel Belcher through the Calgary Health Trust. This donation has extended the group’s generosity towards other Carewest sites.
The wheelchair washer is just one of many donations the North Hill Lions Club has made to better its community. Lion Tony Haberl says, “It’s self satisfying this stuff… it’s fun and you know you’re doing something for someone else.”
A leaf with the name of the Club will now be added to the continuously growing tree of donors found in the front foyer of Glenmore Park.
In learning about the leaf and the purpose of this article, Lion Jack Green, who received his 50 year award with the Lions on June 25, explains that it’s great for the Club to be recognized and for him to be able to go back to other Lions and say, “You are doing something and it is appreciated!”
The Calgary Health Trust works with a number of community groups and individual donors passionate about advancing health care in our community.
