The Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta), in partnership with Calgary Health Trust, is pleased to present the third annual Chair-Leaders Enabling Access Event in Calgary.
Chair-Leaders is a one-day event taking place on May 3, 2013 that involves community leaders, including government officials, CEOs and mayors from various communities across Canada and focuses on the issue surrounding accessibility and mobility for persons with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities. These leaders will literally "switch chairs for a day," opting to spend the entire day in a wheelchair, wheeling through their workday and allowing them to gain a first-hand perspective into what those in the disability community face on a day to day basis.
Funds raised from the 2013 event will be shared between the Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta) for their programs and services and Calgary Health Trust in support of the Tertiary Neuro Rehabilitation Program at Foothills Medical Centre, which serves patients and families from Southern Alberta to interior British Columbia and into Western Saskatchewan.
Calgary Health Trust and CPA Alberta are looking for community leaders in Calgary to help raise awareness by becoming a Chair-Leader and spending the day in a wheelchair on May 3, 2013. Your involvement will help shape Alberta's future in becoming a frontrunner to a barrier-free province. To participate, please click on the link below to set up a participant page. If you can't participate but would like to show your support, you may also pledge a participant.
