Calgary Health Trust is extremely proud to announce that on Friday, November 3, 2017, RED FM will be holding a Radiothon. In the past, the 106.7 RED FM Radiothon in honour of Guru Nanak Jayanti has raised over $1.7 million in support of Neonatal Care and Women’s Health at Peter Lougheed Centre.
This year we are excited to introduce a new project, which is the Hemodialysis Expansion Project at the Peter Lougheed Centre. There is no cure for kidney disease, and individuals with failing kidneys require dialysis as a life-sustaining therapy. The largest increase in demand in hemodialysis is from Calgary’s NE, with a 49 per cent increase in the number of patients who reside there or in immediate areas since 2011. With hemodialysis units in Calgary constantly at or nearing capacity, 23 per cent of these patients currently must dialyze in other quadrants. This expansion will allow patients to use kidney dialysis equipment closer to their homes, improving their quality of life.
The Radiothon will begin at 7:00 am sharp and continue as late as needed into the evening. Donations can be made by cash, cheque or credit card in person :
