$1 for a Smile Cookie = $1 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across Calgary!
Tim Hortons gives 100 per cent of the proceeds to the Calgary Health Trust to purchase items like: a SiPAP, which is a non-invasive ventilator; evacuation chairs, which can evacuate up to six babies at a time in an emergency; omnibed exam lights, which help provide higher degree of light for babies laying on an omnibed; cardiac monitor roll stands, which help secure the monitor; an MRI saturation monitor, which monitors blood oxygen levels in babies while they are undergoing an MRI; portable breast pumps; a bilimetre, which is used to measure the intensity of phototherapy lights; and industrial breast milk freezers.
Smile Cookie was originally created as a way to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children's Hospital in Ontario. Since 1996 it has grown into a major fundraising event across North America. Nationally, Tim Hortons restaurant owners support more than 345 local charities through the annual Smile Cookie Fundraiser. The company has raised more than $46 million nationally to help make a true difference in the communities where Tim Hortons operates.
